Dear readers, it is with much joy, sadness, prayers, and faith that John and I have decided to move to Phoenix AZ. Let me explain:
The Baptist General Conference mission board told us in October that we need to be a part of a BGC church in order to be under their mission board. Just like if you went with the IMB you need to be a part of a Southern Baptist church. After much prayer and consideration for several months we found a church that is willing to adopt us into thier church family. Praise God for Cornerstone Church!
This is so bittersweet because we love our church in South Carolina but feel like God has ordained this to happen. We really feel like God is showing us His mercy in this situation. Instead of plucking us out of the only home we’ve know since we’ve been married and placing us in unfamiliar territory like Belize (this would have shocked us and rocked our world), He is gently placing us in a different place, still in the States, but away from family and friends and all things familiar. He is, in a sense “weening” us to go to Belize. He is preparing our hearts and minds for His service. PTL!!!
This is also a praise because there is a higher concentration of BGC churches in the mid-west and west, so it will be easier to raise the support we need. Like I said before, this is God ordained and shows His mercy on us again and again.
We will be leaving South Carolina rather quickly probably in mid February. John and I ask that you partner with us in fervent prayer about this. Much needs to happen. We are sorry that those friends who are close to us are finding out through blog posts. We won’t be back until the 28th and thought that would be too late to tell people we are moving. We love you all.
P.S. We are safely in Chicago and having a great time.
Wow! It is neat to see how the Lord is leading in your lives! We will be praying for you as you make this transition. We would love to see you before you go!
I am so proud of you guys!! I know the two of you have been praying that God would led you both to where he wants you to be. Your prayers have been answered, no doubt.
I wish you two the best as you begin your journey in serving our precious Lord and Savior. GOD IS GOOD – ALL THE TIME!!!
WOW!! Too cool…I can see what God is doing too!! I am looking so forward to coming to visit you in Belize and can’t wait for you to get there. Of course, I will give you some time to get settled so you will know all the good places to shop before I arrive. 🙂 Distance never keeps true friends really apart…
Much love,
Ann
