Mixing business with pleasure

After our morning meeting, we had almost 4 hours to kill. We drove to Preston, WA, found the next church we were going to visit, then went off in search of food. We happened to find food in a town called Snoqualmie. While we were stopped for lunch, we asked a local if there was anything to do around to kill some time. She asked if we’d been to the falls yet. We said “What falls?” She gave us directions and pretty soon we arrived at Snoqualmie Falls.

It was a beautiful and unexpected diversion in our busy day. Just to give you an idea of scale, the falls are a 100 ft. taller than Niagara Falls. Here’s some pictures we snapped with our phone. (We didn’t have the camera, as we weren’t expecting to do anything of this sort.)

Yes, I dragged Mel down a hike over some pretty rough terrain to get to the bottom of the falls, but she was a really good sport and ended up enjoying it immensely.

We had some really nice meetings. The first with Hilario at Northshore was short but we covered quite a bit. They’re currently re-organizing their missions strategy, but they’re going to keep our information and present it at a future missions meeting. The second, with Roy at Preston, was to talk about the possibility of future trips by his church to Belize. Pastor Roy has a great sense of humor and it was a joy to pass a couple of hours with him as well.

Wow, why have I been avoiding Washington all these years? Oh, yeah, the constant rain. 😛

Glad you’ve found a peaceful spot in the midst of work.

Margie has lots of freinds and relatives up there, we made a trip and we saw the falls and lots of other stuff. One place was like a rainforest, lots of mold and meldew.

The falls were nice but I take a shower most days, so whats news?
