Welcome to the family, Nadine

Today, a shy beautiful woman with a bright smile and a sweet spirit has become my sister in Christ.

It began with a bible study lesson that I did not want to teach today. Why? I thought it was too involved. I did not think I could clearly communicate the true message of Jesus Christ’s baptism. I struggled, wanting to skip this portion of Jesus’ life so that I would be comfortable. But, I can’t very well do a study of Jesus and His relevancy to us today with the ladies and NOT tell them about His Baptism. I told myself that I MUST teach this portion of scripture and God really allowed me to learn so much in the little time I had to study. I started to get excited and knew that I would be touching on some major issues with the villagers about baptism. You see some think in order to be saved you MUST get baptized first.

The study went well, and naturally when you talk about Jesus He ALWAYS points to the cross. So I told the ladies if God was tugging at their heart and if they had any questions to ask me after bible study. I was speaking to another woman when I overheard Mary, (A woman from MN who has been staying with us along with her husband) answering a very difficult question. I came up and the question was repeated to me. I won’t go into it because it would take so long to explain. Just know that satan is trying very hard to get the villagers to believe his lies. One lie was holding her back from becoming a Christian and once she did not believe the lie anymore, she was FREE. She prayed right there to receive Christ, repeating after me, but she closed the prayer.

What rejoicing! What triumph the Lord is having! We praise His name for using us as a vehicle for His word!

Please pray for Nadine. Pray that she will grow in the Lord and stand firm in her faith. Her boyfriend is not a believer. John has been befriending him for a year and we believe that God is working on his heart. God WILL have this village.

Praise the Lord! It’s amazing what He can do through us when we step aside and allow His work to be done in us, even when we are not at ease. Keep up the good work of God’s work.

The battle for the heart is fought between truth and lies. Thanks for being there to give her the answer He knew she needed to know, to know Him.
