Missionary care opportunity

We are quickly approaching the time of our annual field council. This is the time that all of the missionaries from our region gather for meetings. Some things that we accomplish during this time are: each family unit reports on their work for the prior year and their plans for the upcoming year. The other members of the team then vote to approve their ministry plans and strategy. We discuss field budget concerns and vote on a new field budget. We spend time together in prayer and devotions and build team unity (which is needed after we finish working out the budget! Ha!). The dates for field council this year are August 11-14.

While we’re doing all this, we have a need for a couple of people who are willing to care for the children. It would be our three children, plus Marcos, Dan and Melinda’s 8 yr old son. We would be absolutely grateful if a couple or two singles of the same gender were willing to come down and plan a mini-VBS for the kids with activities each day. We will all be in the same hotel together and will be nearby. The only stipulations are that you need to love kids, have passports and be able to easily lift Malachi (about 30 lbs) and move him from place to place as you do activities. We would also ask that it be someone who we know personally or is recommended by a pastor we know personally. As far as cost goes, if you can cover airfare to Guadalajara, all other expenses will be covered during the council (as well as the portion of travel days you are in Guadalajara). If you’d like to make it part of a longer trip and do some exploring around Guadalajara or Central Mexico, that would be great and we can help facilitate travel plans.
