Beyond Beyond, Way Past Way Past

A couple of weekends ago I had the privilege of attending the Brethren ladies retreat with my Gales Point ladies bible study. If you remember, last year I went and it was there where Shelly found Christ. Shelly did return this year along with some familiar faces and we also had some new women go too. Keep in mind that these women rarely leave the village let alone their children. This was a treat for them. It was a treat for me too because I only had one baby to care for, Ellis, and she was a gem the whole retreat.

The theme for the retreat was “Exceedingly Abundantly Above All We Can Ask Or Think” and the theme verse, Ephesians 3:20-21 “20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” What a blessing this retreat was to my soul, but more than that what a blessing it was to the women in my study. I saw them relax, come out of their shells and truly enjoy something. I believe that they really learned that week about the verse and so did I. We watched three videos of Pricilla Shirer speaking on Ephesians 3:20-21. She speaks and communicates the Word of God so well and she talked about how God can go “Beyond beyond, way past way past” our expectations. In fact my bible study group liked it so much that they requested we do one of her bible studies. So often we put God in a box. I had God in my little box, GOD IS MUCH BIGGER THAN THE BOX I HAVE HIM IN. So I took Him out.

On a lighter note, many of you know that I have a history in theatre performance, well we had to come up with a skit based on the theme and our skit won! I was so proud. Guess what I won? Chip clips! We are using them in the kitchen, they were much needed. Below is a picture of our group. Thank you for your continued prayers!

Wow…..you and the women look so happy! It is a blessing to be part of your ministry there!

  2. I seem to only remember one of your theatrical performances, and if I’m not mistaken you called me a myriad of names from stupid to elephant (?) trying to remember what you were supposed to be calling me. 🙂 I still remember that like it was yesterday, because it was awesomely funny!

So good to see all of those smiling faces. Knowing they are growing in their faith and becoming your friends is priceless!
