Ups and Downs and All Arounds

If I have learned anything about Ministry Partner Developement (MPD) it’s that on any given day I can go through a series of emotions.

Yesterday, I’ll tell you the truth, I was frustrated. I’ve e-mailed and called churches with little to no communication on their end. We were told to expect this. So I was expecting it, but, oh is it frustrating. This morning I read in my devotion book about doubt, and how even though the Lord proves faithful time and time again, we STILL doubt Him.

That’s me. In this process where I face ten rejections for every eleven phone calls or e-mails I make, it’s hard not to doubt. But then, I remind myself how very faithful God has been. I prayed that God would take this MPD process in his hands, I told Him that He could have it because I can’t do it by myself.

Today, was an awesome day. It was a lesson to me that when I make God the boss, he’s the best manager of my business. We now have three visits with churches next week and a couple of irons in the fire for a planned trip to Southern California the last week in May (more on that later).

I know that I have more frustrating days in the future, but God is a great boss and I believe He will give me the grace and mercy to make it, as long as we stay faithful to Him.

You are learning some great life lessons that not only encourage you now, but will equip you for the future. Our church service last night centered around God’s faithfulness and the hymn that was written based on Lamentations 3:22 & 23. Verse 21 says, “This I recall to my mind, therefore I have HOPE. The LORD’S lovingkindnesses never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness.”

Amen, I am glad you were encouraged! Hang in there!
